Motorbike tank wrap

The tank is the first thing you see on a motorbike and the part that changes its character most. Wrapping it in carbon or a new colour is simple if the vinyl is good: the tank curves in every direction and needs a film that stretches with heat without losing its colour or pattern. All ours are heat-formable with air-release channels, the same films the professionals use.

Step by step

  1. Remove the tank if you can (or at least the filler cap and trims).
  2. Clean with isopropyl alcohol.
  3. Lay the vinyl centred and fix it at the highest point.
  4. Warm it and stretch towards the sides little by little, pressing down with the squeegee.
  5. Trim round the filler cap with the cutter and seal the edges with heat.

Favourite finishes

Premium carbon and forged carbon for a racing look; matte black for naked bikes and café racers; fluo for enduro and supermoto.

Frequently asked questions

How much vinyl do I need for the tank?

75 cm covers most tanks. For large tanks or to have some margin, 1 m.

Will it crease on the curves?

Not if you warm the film and stretch it little by little. Our vinyl is heat-formable for exactly that reason.

Is it affected by petrol?

An occasional drop, no, if you wipe it off straight away. Don't let petrol pool round the filler cap when you fill up.

Can I protect it with a tank pad?

Yes, you can put a tank pad on top of the vinyl without any problem.
