Mirror chrome vinyl wrap
Chrome vinyl reflects everything around it like a mirror. It's the most eye-catching finish there is: a small piece transforms a grille, wing mirrors, badges or door handles, and a fully chromed car never goes unnoticed. It's also the trickiest vinyl to apply, so here's how to get it right.

Colours
- Silver chrome: the classic mirror, to refresh or replace worn chrome.
- Black chrome: a dark mirror, very smart on window trims, grilles and badges.
- Gold, rose gold and pink-red: for show cars and luxury touches.
- Red, blue and green: bold colour with a metallic shine.
Where it looks best
On small and medium parts: wing mirrors (50 cm), window trims, badges, door handles, wheels or motorbike details. A full chrome car is spectacular but takes experience: the first time, start with a small part.
How to apply chrome vinyl
Chrome does not forgive mistakes. Work with a felt-edged squeegee so nothing gets scratched, wear gloves to avoid fingerprints and heat it carefully: chrome that is overstretched or overheated loses its mirror effect and goes dull. On very tight curves it is better to cut and overlap than to stretch the film too far.
Prefer it without reflections?
If you want a smart metallic look that is easier to apply, go for matte and satin chrome vinyl.
Frequently asked questions
Can I wrap a whole car in mirror chrome?
A fully mirrored car can dazzle other drivers and may raise questions at the roadworthiness test. For a full wrap, matte or satin chrome is the safer choice; mirror chrome is perfect for parts and details.
Why does chrome go dull on curves?
Because the film was overstretched or overheated. Chrome only stretches a little: on tight curves, cut and overlap instead.
How do I clean chrome vinyl?
With water, a neutral soap and a microfibre cloth, without rubbing hard. Do not use wax or polishing compounds: they scratch the surface.
Which chrome vinyl sells best?
Silver chrome, for badges, grilles and window trims. Black chrome and gold come right behind, both very popular for details.
