Approved Window Tint Film Kit for Cars and Motorbikes

A kit with approved window tint film for cars and motorbikes, made by Edo Films. Choose the tint level: 25, 50, 65, 85 or 95%. The higher the percentage, the darker the film; even 95% still lets some light through.

What’s in the kit?

• A 76 × 300 cm sheet of film with a scratch-resistant layer
• Approval stickers
• Approval certificate
• Fitting instructions

Which tint should I choose?

• 25%: light, blocks sun and heat without changing the look of the car much.
• 50% and 65%: medium dark, with more privacy.
• 85% and 95%: the darkest, for maximum privacy.

What does the law say?

The windscreen and the front side windows must let through most of the light, so this film is not for the front. In Ireland the front windows must let through at least 65% of the light; in Estonia and Bulgaria the windscreen and front side windows must keep at least 70%. The film goes on the rear side windows and the rear window only, and the car needs two exterior mirrors. Always use approved film, put an approval sticker on each tinted window and keep the certificate in the car: the tester at the NCT or roadworthiness test, or the police, may ask for it.

How do I fit it?

The film goes on the inside of the window, applied with soapy water and a squeegee, and is then trimmed to size. A 76 × 300 cm sheet is enough for the rear windows of a hatchback or saloon.
