Colour shift and effect vinyl wrap for cars

Colour shift (chameleon) vinyl changes colour depending on where you look at it from: the same car looks blue from the front and purple from the side, red in the sun and violet in the shade. It's the vinyl for people who want a car like no other, and it looks best on large, curved surfaces where the light changes.

Effects

Important: the roll direction

The colour of colour shift vinyl depends on the angle, including the angle of the film itself. Lay every piece in the direction it comes off the roll; a piece turned round will have a different shade from the rest. For a full car, order everything at once, so it all comes from the same production batch.

Where it stands out most

On a full car (about 15 m), the bonnet (1.5–2 m) or the roof (2 m). On a motorbike: the tank and fairings. On very small parts you can barely see the effect.

Frequently asked questions

Why is one piece a different colour?

Because it was applied turned round compared with the others. With colour shift vinyl, every piece must run in the same roll direction.

Is it hard to apply?

It goes on like any gloss vinyl. The only difference: watch the roll direction.

Is there colour shift in the ICR® range too?

Yes: ICR® aurora borealis and ICR® magic grey to purple are colour shift films in Extra Premium quality.

Does the effect work in the evening too?

In low light the colour change is weaker and the base colour dominates. The effect is strongest in sunshine and low-angle light.
