Self-adhesive vinyl for furniture

Although we specialise in cars, the same professional vinyl is great for refreshing furniture: chests of drawers, wardrobes, bedside tables, shelves, headboards or wardrobe doors. It goes on over melamine, lacquer, varnished wood or metal, follows the edges with heat and comes off when you get bored. Our 152 cm wide roll lets you cover wardrobe doors and large panels in one piece, with no joins, which most 60 cm decorative films can't do.

Finishes for furniture

How much do you need?

  • Bedside table or small set of drawers: 1 m.
  • Chest of drawers: 2 m.
  • Two-door wardrobe: 3 to 5 m (measure the height × the number of doors).

Measure each face, add 3 cm on each side to fold over the edges and choose the length that covers it.

How to apply it

Remove handles and hinges, clean with a degreaser and, if the surface is very shiny, rub it down with fine sandpaper. Apply dry from one side, pressing down with the felt-edged squeegee, and fold over the edges with a little heat. Trim with the cutter and refit the handles.

Frequently asked questions

Can I cover furniture with vinyl?

Yes, on smooth surfaces: melamine, lacquer, varnished wood, metal or glass. On very porous or textured wood, the result is worse.

How is it different from DIY-store sticky-back plastic?

Ours is automotive vinyl: thicker, heat-formable, with air-release channels and 152 cm wide, so it covers large doors in one piece and lasts much longer.

Can it be removed without spoiling the furniture?

Yes, with heat it comes off without damaging melamine or lacquer in good condition.

Will it last in a kitchen or bathroom?

Yes, it copes with humidity and cleaning with mild products. See also our kitchen vinyl wrap page.
