Vinyl for doors at home

Replacing interior doors is expensive; covering them with vinyl costs little and transforms the hallway. A standard door is about 198 × 76 cm, so our roll 152 cm wide and 2 m long covers it completely in one piece. The most popular choices are walnut wood grain, white to give old doors a lacquered look and matte black, which is very on trend.

How much do you need?

One side of a standard door: 2 m (€69.99). If you want both sides, 5 m covers two doors on both sides, cutting across the width. For built-in wardrobes, measure the height × width of each door.

Panelled doors

Flat doors are the easiest. Panelled doors can be covered too, by warming the vinyl so it goes into the recesses, but it takes longer.

How it's done

Take the door off and remove the handles and hinges. Clean it and, if it's glossy lacquer, sand it lightly. Apply the vinyl from top to bottom with the squeegee, fold 2 cm over the edges and cut out the holes for the handle and lock.
