Wrap the whole car

Wrapping the whole car completely changes its look for far less than a respray, protects the original paint and comes off when you want to sell it. A hatchback needs about 15 m of the 152 cm roll, and we send it in one piece so you have as few joins as possible. For a full wrap we recommend solid colours in gloss, matte or satin, and the ICR® Premium range, which stretches best over large panels.

Which vinyl?

How many metres?

  • Small car (Fiesta, Polo, Yaris): 13 to 15 m.
  • Hatchback and saloon (Golf, Focus, 3 Series): 15 m.
  • SUV and large estate: 18 to 20 m.

If you're also wrapping the door shuts, add 2 or 3 m. You'll find the full table on our vinyl by the metre page.

Yourself or at a wrap shop?

An experienced wrapper needs two or three days for a whole car. If it's your first time, start with the flat panels, roof and bonnet, and leave the bumpers and wing mirrors until last. You'll need a squeegee, a cutter, knifeless tape, gloves and a heat gun. Many customers buy the vinyl from us and have their trusted wrap shop fit it.

Why buy it here

We sell professional vinyl, heat-formable and with air-release channels against bubbles: the same film wrap shops use. We always have every length in stock: order before 4 pm and the 15 m roll ships the same day, reaching you in 3–5 working days.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to wrap a whole car?

The vinyl for a hatchback, 15 m at 152 cm wide, costs €369.99, or €492.99 in the ICR® Premium range. If a wrap shop fits it, labour is usually €1,500 to €3,500 depending on the car. A respray in a new colour costs a lot more and can't be undone.

Do I need to report a colour change?

In Ireland, Estonia and Bulgaria the main colour of the car is recorded on its registration certificate, so if you change the colour of the whole car you should update the registration (in Ireland, with the Vehicle Registration Unit; in Estonia, with the Transport Administration; in Bulgaria, at the traffic police registration office) and tell your insurer. A partial wrap (roof, wing mirrors, stripes) doesn't change the main colour. Read more in our guide Is it legal to wrap your car?

How long does a full wrap last?

A good film that you look after lasts several years. Wash by hand or in a brushless car wash, avoid products with solvents and keep the pressure washer away from the edges.

Does removing the wrap damage the paint?

No, not on original paint in good condition; in fact it protects it. It comes off with heat; only paint that has been resprayed or is in poor condition could lift with it.
