Wrap your car doors

Car doors have lots of parts you can personalise with vinyl: the interior panel trims, the handles, the chrome window surrounds and the sill plates. Outside, the window trims are the basis of a chrome delete; inside, matched to the dashboard, they completely change the look of the interior.

Inside

Panel trims and handle surrounds look great in carbon fibre, brushed aluminium or piano black. Take the panel off if you can, or at least the trim, so you can fold the vinyl round the back.

Outside

Window surrounds in gloss black and exterior handles in carbon or the colour of the roof. Sill plates can be covered with carbon to protect them from scuffs from shoes.

How much do you need?

For the interior trims on all four doors, 50 cm to 1 m. For the exterior window trims, 50 or 75 cm. If you're doing inside and out, 1 m.

Frequently asked questions

Can I wrap the whole door panel?

The rigid, smooth parts, yes. Soft, upholstered or heavily textured areas don't look good: stick to trims, handles and inserts.

How much vinyl do I need for all four doors?

For the interior trims, between 50 cm and 1 m depending on the car. For the exterior window trims, about 75 cm.

Which finish goes with the dashboard?

Ideally, use the same vinyl on the dashboard and doors: carbon, piano black or aluminium all look great.

Can I wrap the sill plates?

Yes, and it's a good idea because they get scratched a lot. Carbon hides marks very well.
