Colour flip vinyl: it changes colour

Colour flip films, also called psychedelic or magic films, change shade depending on where you look at them from: the same car looks red from the front and gold from the side. They go a step further than colour shift, with sharper transitions. We have magic red, magic green, magic orange-gold, psychedelic grey extreme shine and ICR® magic grey to purple.

Where it shines

On whole cars with pronounced curves and on motorbikes, where you see the colour change as they move. On small, flat parts the effect is lost.

Direction matters

The colour change depends on the direction of the film: apply every piece in the same roll direction so the effect is even all over the car.

How much do you need?

Full car: 15 m. Motorbike: 2 to 3 m. Width: 150 or 152 cm depending on the film.

Frequently asked questions

What is colour flip vinyl?

A vinyl with pigments that change colour depending on the viewing angle and the light.

How is it different from colour shift?

They're similar; colour flip usually has sharper transitions between very different colours.

Is a colour-changing car legal?

Yes. If you wrap the whole car, update the registration with the main colour and tell your insurer.

Is it hard to apply?

Like any vinyl, but you must keep to the roll direction on every piece.
